Who it is for
- Candidates with an interest but no sharp research question yet
- Applicants unsure which department or supervisor to approach
- Researchers who want a publication plan alongside the PhD
Admission is a fit problem
Strong candidates are turned down for broad proposals, mismatched departments or unclear methods. We test your topic for novelty, feasibility and impact, then build the proposal and supervisor enquiry around it.
The 12- or 15-paper pathway is a plan, not a promise. Acceptance depends on your work and independent peer review.
What is included
- Research-topic refinement, feasibility review and impact alignment
- Proposal structure, research-question and methodology mentoring
- Institution and supervisor-fit guidance
- Academic CV, personal statement and application-document development
- Publication-pipeline planning for the selected 12- or 15-paper pathway
- Ethical authorship, academic writing, reference-management and journal-fit guidance
- Interview or admission-readiness preparation where required
How it works
- Review academic background, objective, preferred field and available evidence
- Confirm the selected mentoring option, institution route and separately payable charges
- Develop the research proposal, application documents and publication roadmap
- Complete a readiness review before submission and agree the next-stage mentoring plan
Fees
The £2,500 amount is recorded as a separate university/provider charge. It must be verified with the named institution and is not treated as a GCA mentoring fee. See fees & payment.

- Mentoring fees and university or provider fees are separate.
